With all the hype surrounding the launch and release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it's easy to forget that Samsung does make other phones. Of course, Samsung will also gladly remind us, and that's what they have done today. They just officially new mid-range/budget-friendly device, the Samsung Galaxy Core. Here's a spec breakdown,
    • 4.3-inch display with WVGA resolution
    • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
    • 1GB of RAM
    • 5 megapixel camera
    • Front-facing VGA camera
    • Bluetooth 3.0
    • 8GB of internal storage
    • 1,800mAh battery
    • Android 4.1
    • Smart Stay, Smart Alert, S Voice & Motion UI
    • Dual-SIM bays (International version)
    • Single SIM version in July for the US
As you can see, the specs are pretty decent, although of course, that will depend upon the price at launch. They didn't share that just yet, nor did they share when it will hit the shelves. We will keep you apprised when we know more. Here is the full press release,

Yeah... I wondered the same thing as well, but, ya never know. I guess this is for folks who don't like the 4.9 inch screen. :)

    Hi,

That's a good point! Maybe some reasons can be the price, the age of the model, because they're unaware of the market or even because the dual sim features. Anyhow the S3 will provide a way better user experience, but the market is moving too fast and many people may not have the time to go deep in this regard. Although, I saw many positive feedback about the Galaxy Core and there are still many people that is interested in this model, so it seems that Samsung is developing some models for specific segments of the market.

    Take care!

This is why I don't get the midrange market. Other than the nexus line & the moto x, why would you just not get an older flagship model or a used phone. I would think that manufacturers would make more money this way. Heck, other than the dual sim, those specs seem similar to many 1 to 2 year old phones, many that can be had for around $150 or less.
