With the Maxx being 4G do you think it's defeating the purpose to have my phone on wifi at home and at work? I'm using Smart Actions but I want to experience the 4G speed but don't want to drain my battery also.

Also which one saves more battery, background sync off or cellular data off?

I have smart actions kick data off and wifi on when I get home. Its VERY fast on wifi. I use 4G at work.

I don't think it defeats the purpose at all. I have unlimited data, but if someone is limited, why not surf wifi when you can.

You have data sync off with wifi at home than 4G on at work, I'll try that. Thanks :)

I use Wifi every chance I get for going online, I don't think it uses any of your monthly data plan either, judging by my data use and the fact that my D1 still works on WiFi.

In my personal experience Wifi is still faster than 4G.

Remember though... if someone sends you an mms pic and you have data off, you can read the message but to see the pic you need to briefly toggle "data on" to download the pic. Not a big deal, very easy to do with smart actions and for me its infrequent.

Ditto and 100% correct. But don't bother to shut off data. It will only use it for cellular data if necessary, almost nothing while on wifi.

Well cellular data off turns it all off so I'd have to go with that 1. Again, unless you are on wifi.

Yep! Cellular data is used to send sms/mms text messages.
