I got this new Maxx and as soon as I got it about three weeks ago I powered off and charged to 100% then used till 15 them repeat...

Here's my problem.. I get awful battery life! What am i doing wrong??

Smart action "battery extender"
When not moving or charging and when screen is off
No GPS
No wifi
No background data
No cellular data

Battery goes about 10 hours before I get a warning....

Are you on Ics? If so have you done any factory data resets? It has helped many with weird issues. Have you tried updating to .215 from .211? Seems to help with battery life.
Hang tight, someone will have answers for you soon.

-Is the back of your phone bloated?
-Can you post a screenshot of your battery usage screen and your screen battery usage? (Like the examples I included)

I would start with a FDR. I am using the .215 leak but I didn't see any dramatic changes in battery life, maybe a minor improvement.

Nope not bloated at all I'm going to start with a FDR and then take a screen shot later.

What is happening in that 10 hours? screen time is what everyone over looks. 10 hours with 6 hours of screen time will kill a battery.

Try downloading gsambattery from the app store (free) and it will show you what is hard on your battery. Or screen shoot it and we can further help you.

My 3 hours of screen time I'm low 70s/ high 60s.
If I play an intense game it would be down below 50%.

This is keeping it on since 7 this morning and its now four minutes until midnight. I see this sometimes online where people have issues with their maxx. I would say get a new one. For the almost year i have had this phone its died maybe three times and i had to play youtube videos for 45 minutes at 15%. No joke.

The biggest problem is the inconsistency of batteries, most of which are made in china. Some are stellar, most are good and probably 25 percent are sub par then there are some that are useless. If you abuse this phone like nobody's business it should last ten hours. Peoples usage varies to much to determine a true base line.

The average "me" keeps a new smartphone for an average of 8 months. From the several that i have had; iPhone 3gs to the 4s the original droid and a few others i will keep this for the full two years and the upgrade to the maxx hd or their new one. Whatever that may be be.

Okay, I had to think about it, but average, yeah in the 8 month range. Coming from the razr to the maxx I'm happy as heck. Me personally an average would be in the 4 month range. Would have bought the HD when it came out but it didn't flip the right switch. Especially with the HTC hitting next month.

My 1st Maxx had awesome battery life. I'm a light user and could easily get 2 days and sometimes 3 days out of a charge. Then the speaker blew and got a replacement. Battery life was no where near as good with the same use and same apps. Lived with it for a while then complained to Verizon. The representative was reluctant to replace it saying my current one was fine. Got the 3rd one and I'm back to 2-3 days on a charge. My experience is all batteries are not created equal and I'm glad I complained when I did. I'd take it back.
