Since the ICS update, notifications which appear in the 'notifications bar' are also triggering the screen to turn on. Since I don't see this when my Maxx is in my pocket, it's causing battery drain. Any way to turn that off???

Are you running any 3rd party SMS apps?

Thanks so much for the reply. In answer to your question, no. I don't do any texting.

Reason I asked because some of the 3rd party SMS apps will turn on the screen when new notifications are received. Perhaps it's another app that maybe causing the issue.

Could be, but the problem is unique to ICS, since I've added no apps since upgrading, and did not have the problem before doing so...

If you have not done so, I'd suggest doing a factory reset.
I had issues with ICS after the update.
Guess I had some things lingering from Gingerbread that got carried over to ICS.
After doing a factory reset, I've had no problems so far.

Oddly enough, after switching from 4LTE to 3G, I don't seem to be having the problem. Go figure...
