PRL means preferred roaming list. It tells the phone which signals to ignore and which to connect to. Basically it programs the phone to allow you to connect to compatible networks and not get charged for roaming. The shortcut on Verizon phones us to dial *22899 and wait for it to tell you the programming is done.

This came from my brain by way of my finger and my phone. Don't ask where any of them have been. Especially the brain.

I don't have much knowledge about the milestone. But all I know is if I got this far down the rabbit hole I would just find the most up to date milestone sbf and flash that. Like I said though this is a little out of my area of expertise so I don't have much relevant advice...

Two questions:

One, what Milestone do you have? There are a couple of variants kicking around, including a rebadged Droid without the locked bootloader.

Two, have you considered flashing a ROM like CyanogenMod for the Milestone?

I am not sure what milestone I have... how do I find out?

I have tried CyanogenMod for the Milestone and had the same issues.
What I need to figure out is how to change the MCC and or MNC in the APNs and still be able to save the new APN.

I do know I have a CDMA phone if that was the info you were asking for.

I'm sorry for the long delay in the middle. Here on the forum we've come to the impression that if we don't hear back in a couple days that the problem's solved or the poster's given up. :)

I understand that too.
I also travel for work and am out for 2 weeks at a time so I could be a while to update.
When solved I WILL post for all to see how and when just in case some other poor soul does this to himself.

I'm going to say that most likely the towers in your area needed work. As long as the 3G stays stable... :)

Glad to hear that for whatever reason things are looking up! :)
