My name is Jim and I have an original Droid. I got the phone about a year ago and have been very happy with it although worried that it will not get 2.3. Also, I am not up for an upgrade for a few months and honestly not sure which android device I will get next. I know I don't need a qwerty keyboard and would like to hold out for a LTE phone. Occasionally I will listen to the android central podcast.

I would not worry about 2.3, someone will make a build for the droid 1 soon after the source code is released. My best advice is get comfortable, do some reading on these forums and decide from that what direction you are heading.

I plan on at least another 6 months of use from my droid 1, after that MAYBE I will grab something new.

We have a lot of milage left in the droid1

I agree I really like my Droid and would be happy with it for some time if I had to wait for an upgrade. Curious though about apps like Netflix that I've read might come q1 to see if they would be available for droid 1.
