I saw some posts on numerous news sites (9To5Google, etc.) claiming that a new hybrid smartwatch by LG has been through the FCC filing process. This may possibly be called the LG Timepiece? Apparently the watch will run Wear OS but also have traditional analog watch hands; so you can have Wear OS watch faces, or a traditional analog watch. It's also rumored that if the Wear OS battery dies the analog watch will continue to run for up to 100 hours. Other than the hybrid design it's rumored to be pretty much like every other smartwatch on the market; 1.2" screen, Snapdragon 2100, 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, etc. Anyone interested in a hybrid watch like this? Share your thoughts.

interesting watch, will be interested to see how well it sells. also wonder how thick it will be. one thing for sure, having real hands that will work after the battery drains will be a major plus. though it had not happened that many times but every once in a while the battery will drain after a few hours on my watch and had to take it off because it was useless.

The LG Watch Timepiece measures 45.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm in size, with its overall physical footprint sitting between that of the LG Watch Style (42.3 x 45.7 x 10.8 mm) and LG Watch Sport (45.4 x 51.2 x 14.2 mm), the company’s last smartwatch offerings. LG will be shipping the wearable with a 22 mm silicone rubber strap that users will be able to swap with any other band of identical size.

Kind of big watch if you ask me. I prefer 42x42 watches.

This has some potential. I'll say after replicating a half dozen+ classic luxury watchfaces, the watch hands are by far the most difficult and frustrating. And because 95% of my usage is just glancing at my watch to see the time, this makes a lot of sense.

Of course, as is the case with phones, the display eats up like 80% of your battery. I have always-on watchfaces (because it just doesn't seem like a watch otherwise) and get nearly 2 days on a charge.
