I always thought about trying to root my D2 after seeing everyone say it is better. May have to read up more about how to do it. I am sure there must be a thread here about how to do it?

If you're on the latest gb OTA then gingerbeak apk will work. Otherwise, on froyo use z4 root. But ya just look in the d2 development area.

Yes, I have the GB OTA update. I did see a post about 1 click root. Maybe reread that link?

I heard gingerbreak doesn't work. And that the only method to root the droid 2 was to use the same method as the one for the droid 3.

Good stuff. That's right you need the root method used on the Bionic, D3, and DX-GB

Yep... steps I took
download liquid zip.
place on root of SD Card (use Astro or similar)
BACKUP your system, Backup, Backup!
Some like to use rom manager for this step but I'll tell you how I do it which always works...
In Rom Manager, Flash Clockwork Mod, First option on top, then back out of rom manager. Go to Bootstraper (downloadable .apk) and boot into recovery.
from there you'll get into the dos looking screens. In this order Wipe Data, then Wipe Cache, then go to advanced and wipe dalvik Cache.
then go into mounts, and mount system.
after those quick steps, go to install zip from sd card. find the zip and you are good to go!
