Having trouble setting up work email on droid inc.

I am trying to set up my work email on my droid incredible.
I have contacted my work helpdesk, but they havent got back to me yet.

I keep getting error messages like
Authentication failed. Please verify username and/or password ( I know both are correct)

the phone asks for
Email address
Server address
Domain
Username
Password

I read a couple threads on this and still cant get it working.
when I hit ctl alt del the computer says-
my name is logged in as mywork\myname
I enter that in the domain

server address I entered the last part after @ of my email address

username and password should be correct

I was using exchange activesync, should I be using POP, APOP, IMAP instead?

I'm really stumped.
any ideas?

It just depends on how your mail guys got there stuff setup. For our company I have SSL IMAP setup. Also, just cause your email address is [email protected], doesnt absolutely mean that the server address is going to be blahblah.com.

You need to get your ITs guys to help you set it up!

I just got a reply from my help desk at work and they wont help me because its not a company owned phone.
They did tell me how to check it online tho at
Https://mail.mywork.com i have to try that address yet tho.
