Has anyone found a way to silence the GMail notifications?

Dang things are waking me up every time I get mail. I want notifications for text message and calendar alerts cuz that's how my security company lets me know when someone breaks in...but the emails are drivning me nuts. Mostly male product enhacers (I use the term "product" loosely).

go to settings in gmail click on your email account and then ringtone & vibrate where you can turn it off so you don't get any notifications or set the ringtone to silent.

Download gmail notifier. It worked on Gingerbread not sure about ICS.
It lets you set times to turn off alerts, as well as set alerts per mailbox.

You can also set up the filters in Gmail so those emails go straight to the spam folder & you'll never get a notification.

Wow, not too easy to find that setting. Thanks!
