Gmail acct password troubles

Yup, I know my two Gmail accts and the respective passwords.

I am able to access each on my desktop, so I KNOW the passwords

Yet with a cpl of new apps, when I install and they ask me for the acct/password, it returns with the message:

"Incorrect email or password."

I have tried caps/no caps
re entered the password sevl times (12 digits, so is a pain)

Any help out there for this?
