foxfi credentials work around yet?

Has anyone had a fix yet without rooting after update? I can tether but just no hotspot. Can't get passed the credential password input, a dev emailed me to clear credentials under security and that was the way to get rid of the lock screen. I've done that and still nothing.

I just uninstalled, then reinstalled foxfi, and it works now on s3. No root. Don't see why it would be different on s4

Searching for a fix and found this old post. Updated to Kit Kat, Galaxy S4 on Verizon and now have the same problem. Cannot get past password for credential storage and credential storage is grayed out, nothing there. Anyone ever find a fix?

I have done that, Foxfi shows it is connected, the computers see Foxfi, but there is no internet connection.
