root...install Clockwork Mod Recovery via ODIN, make nandroid backup of current rom in CWMR, download whichever Rom you want, wipe data/cache, flash rom...good to go

If i were you and it sounds like you may be a noob with the Fascinate id stay away from Froyo alpha roms for now as they arent really daily drivers since some of it is still broken at the moment....plus it involves VooDoo kernels and red CWMRecovery....if you dont know what your doing you can soft brick your phone....just throwing that out there

You gotta install clockwork, either through odin or rom manager, then through that wipe data/cache and install the kernel for whichever rom (kaos's rom requires voodoo and red clockworkmod, so install a voodoo kernel and reboot before you flash his kernel/rom) then install the rom right after.

Not exactly. That page is for you to learn about rooting and installing custom roms and such. It'll be best to learn about it so you don't end up bricking your phone.
