Hello im having issues with the root process for the DROID bionic. Im running the latest version 2.3.4 and when ever I run the root process it goes through 3 steps. My DROID bionic makes it through the first two steps but fails on the 3rd. Can someone help me out please??

Here's an old guide for the d1 but the concept is still the same. I like having complete control of my phone, flashing roms, changing the look and feel of my phone. What got me in to rooting back when I had the d1 was being able to install froyo before Verizon had actually released the OTA update for it. Also, you can backup and restore, overclock(haven't done this on the bionic yet), change boot animations. There's alot more that can be done, maybe others can chime in here too.

Sounds like slow Internet to me. It's a big file. And can someone elaborate on the wifi tethering being patched? I set my entitlement check to 0 so it doesn't communicate to verizon when I use it.

Yes, must be a slow internet connection. I can't remember but mine probably downloaded in less than 10 minutes.

I'm guessing satellite. In that case he'll probably exceed the FAP and won't be able to finish it. From my experience anyway. (lol. FAP.)

FAP is an acronym that stands for Fair Access Policy. It applies to satellite Internet subscribers and what it does is give the ISP permission to throttle the subscribers Internet to dial up speeds if they download a certain amount of data over a given time period, for example 24 hours. It's a complete crock. I'll let you guys Google the other definition. Haha. It's not appropriate for DroidForums.
