Do I retain my settings if I go back to stock?

Sorry if this has been asked but I searched and couldn't find an answer directly on point.

I'm rooted and running Bugless Beast 7.5. Is it possible to go back to stock and retain all my settings so I don't have to reinstall all my apps? From what I understand, going back to stock basically performs a factory reset where all data is lost. If I'm incorrect, please let me know what method I can use in order to un-root, de-beast and retain my settings and installed applications. Thanks in advance.

Back your apps up with Astro or something similar, then do then factory reset and reinstall your apps from Astro....its much quicker this way

I know I can do that but is there a way to go back to stock and not have to do a factory reset?
