With the way verizon has been lately i wanted to jump ship to sprint because they clearly have a more open policy but then i decided to check to see the coverage in my area. Everywhere that i go on a regular basis is covered by verizon's 4g lte but the sprint wimax is barely covering my house and it doesn't cover where i got to college which is 15 minutes from where i live. So it looks like sprint isn't an option for me, i certainly hope that the Samsung Galaxy SII is open and has LTE or else i might just lose my mind

I think the S2 will be unlocked but if it's the same as the European version it won't have LTE. Given how thin it is I bet it doesn't have that 2nd radio packed inside.

Yeah, congrats on discovering why VZW costs, literally, a few bucks more. And worth every penny.

Sprint has some nice phones. I'd actually consider them again after years and years, but as you point out their coverage simbky blows for many people, especially travelers.
