Cracked screen

Idk where to post this so I put it here.
Today my phone fell and the outer screen broke but it works fine but I don't like the way it feels and it looks weird, I was wondering if I should and could file a claim and I was woundering if I did what would I get back. I have the moto droid 1.

If you have insurance you should file a claim. As for what you get back, chances are it will be a droid 1.

This came from my brain by way of my finger and my phone. Don't ask where any of them have been. Especially the brain.

I had this happen.....sucks!!!

You will probably get a D1, but you may also get a D2 or DInc as well. Just have to see. But definately file a claim.

Can I keep my card and put in a cheap 2gb instead?

I kept the card....battery and charger. They don't send a new sdcard. so keep that....keep the battery so now you have an extra. They send a generic Moto charger, that doesn't have the USB plug as well.

I got my new phone and it work fine except its not rooted. Ill have to do that later.

My touch screen broke and I don't have insurance, I know sucks. Probably have to get a new phone. What I am wondering is there anything I can do to get all the data out of it? I can't usb mount or anything unless I can do it with the key pad.

Do you have SPRecovery or ClockworkMod Recovery installed?

Doesn't sound familiar so probably not. I did copy everything from the sd card onto my laptop, that's the only thing I know what to do for now.

I can't even get to the app screen after it boots up. Is there anything I can do with the key pad?

Can you see things on the screen? Is the screen cracked/broken or is it just non-responsive?
