Getting my S3 today, and picked up the iPhone 5 for the wife last night. Yes, she went to the other side. I still prefer Android but have to admit the fit and finish of the iPhone 5 is amazing.

We both were on Android before this upgrade and used Google Talk to text. Anyone have a suggestion for a good app that will cross the barriers? I'm sure there are tons out there, but don't feel like trying 7 or 8 until I find a good one.

My wife has an iPhone 4s and we use Tango for video-chats. It has a chat function that would operate like Google Talk.

Congrats on the new devices...Google Talk is still available on the iOS - she may just have to download an app like Imo, IM+ or something comparable to log into gTalk with...

We tried VTalk on iOS but the video chat was bad. You log in using your gmail, so that would be a possible choice as well.

Whatsapp was the winning suggestion for me. Working great. Thanks for the tip.

I really like kik messenger, it has the "d" when a message is delivered and the "r" when the message is read, kind of like bbm on blackberry
