Good Evening,
I got my Droid 3 as a replacement for my X2.
It came with 2.3.4 and I was curious if this is the most current OS for it? (the X2 was on 2.3.5 when it died)

Should I assume that if I'm not up to date I'll need to flash it?

Thanks.

guess real question is are you going to stay stock or flash roms?
many of the roms can be flashed on 890
once on 906 you can't go back

So, I'm guessing the / 5.X.X refers to System Version.
I'm on 5.7.906.eXT862.Verison.en.US
I guess that means no custom ROMs :(
Thanks for the help.

No you can still flash custom ROMs, just if you are on .890 you can flash back to .959. That's mainly for brick situations, as they changed the bootloader. I'm on .906 and am flashing custom ROMs when I find one I like.

I'm not saying it was aliens...but it was aliens.

OK. Thanks, I'll check them out.
And sadly, yes, I didn't pay too much attention to the system version on the X2. It updated once that I noticed while I had it. Plus, I didn't quite follow the way you wrote it. I'm slow that way ;)
Thanks again.
