Wireless Moot

If you mean the one where you have to change the ringer volume to get media sounds to come through, then no I don't think so. That happened to me again yesterday

I don't think I like having different volumes for media, rings, and notifications - just saying. When I easily turn the volume down, I want all of those volumes to go down, not just the ringer. It doesn't seem to work like that :\

Is anyone having trouble with the WiFi staying connected on .247? I have 3 wireless routers running in my house, and even sitting in the room with the router itself i seem to keep losing signal on the phone while no other device seems to be affected, .246 and .244 as well as .232 never had this problem.

And Yes I know one router might work fine but its a large old house with a lot of places that seem to degrade my signal, so I went and bought a second, things kind of improved on one side but the other suffered still so I bought a third, plus if you knew me you would know I prefer good old fashioned cable to router over wifi so the extra ports is always a good thing.

if you've read everything and then run into a problem, you won't have a problem with my level of support. Even when I'm yelling at people for not reading and wasting my time, I still help them. We've yet to lose a phone. For what you need to do, it's pretty damn simple. Install 7.7, FXZ, RSD 5.7, 247 update installer....in that order. Make sure the latest Moto driver is installed and that the phone can be seen by windows in both Charge Only and AP Fastboot modes (for the second you reboot it manually into AP Fastboot by shutting it off, hold volume down and hit power....do so while it's connected to USB). Once the driver situation is dealt with, reboot the phone. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled, you are *NOT* on a USB 3 port, and the phone is in Charge Only mode. Run the HoB, select 247, then INSTALL, then follow and DO all of the prompts. Done.

Thanks Sam I will probably try this tonight after I read some more

Thanks for the update Sarge!

Yes. I thought it was just my router. But its happening at work now too.

Just when I found out a battery saving setting was set to turn off WiFi and data when the screen was locked that I'm sure I never selected.

I experienced the same thing. So I checked the firmware on my router. It needed upgrading so I did and haven't had a problem since

Your bouncing maybe due to the signal strength of each of the AP's being close to the same and the bionic can not choose which is the best as they are all close to the same strength. I would try adjusting the signal strength for one and also choosing a different channel for each AP as well. depending on what radio type is in each AP. Most AP's do not like seeing the same channels as neighbors with the same SSID.

Oh JOYS. That's going to be a pain in the ass right now. He's currently got it in an AP Fastboot error. I'm having him fix that first. Flashing the radio is fun....cough cough. He's a 246 user so I'm gonna have to have him do it manually.

Hey! My weirdness made the big thread.

Appreciate the help here guys. This one shocked the hell out of me too - never expected the little jump from 246 to 247 to take me out.
No rush here - re-activated my old D1 (CM7 nightly - yeah, FroYo!) as my daily driver so the LTE futzed Bionic is a now a test phone.
I ain't hating anyone except VZW and their f*****g locked bootloader.
Time is our friend. As long as this is not a hardware failure, we're (ok - you smart guys) are going to figure this out. :hail:
Currently the battery is below flash threshold and the phone won't charge it - waiting on additional battery and external charger to show up from Amazon (5-10 days).
Some sick little twisted part of me is actually having fun here - This process becomes much less stressful when you have nothing to lose.

What we've been telling people is to do a dry run with your phone disconnected and say N at all the prompts to get a feel for the process before doing it. That should give you an idea of what to expect.

We know how to potentially fix it so PM me when you're ready with your battery and we'll give it a shot. It's going to take some work and will involve manual steps. But it's possible we can get it going again for you.

Do you have any sort of channel diversity setup on them? With three, you should have one on channel 1, one on channel 6, and one on channel 11. Otherwise they will be "fighting" with each other on the same frequencies. Channels 1,6,and 11 are the only ones with no overlapping frequency ranges.
