Will using the phone as a GPS everyday spoil the phone?

I am a driver and I use my Samsung S4 map as a gps everyday. I am wondering the screen is continuously on for 9 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, will it cause any harm or spoil the phone?

After using for some hours, the phone screen feels hot.

It should be okay.. Possible you can get a small screen burn in... If you have times you can listen to instructions and have screen off might help.. I listen over blue tooth with screen off plenty times... Overall just use it... No worries

Does burn in occur if the screen image keeps changing? When the gps is on, it seldom stays at the same screen for more than 1 min, the screen keeps changing, unless I am waiting at the traffic junction

Your notification bar icons might, on the left top of the phone, as most often those don't change.
