WidgetLocker +*~+*~+*~+*~+*-- WOW!!!

Kevin,

I was wondering if it would be possible to turn off the "back button unlock" feature even when not using the slide to unlock. I, and a many others as ive read, are using WL+PS(or QD) and arent using any other home launcher, therefore there is no need to unlock. If i do ever need to get to my 'home' (maybe to change the background) i can ge there through PS.

its not a big deal, just sometimes its a pain if i accidentally hit the back button to many times and it takes me to an empty home screen. :/

Thanks again and keep up the Great Developing!

I guess you're using the No Slider layout. If you have room for a slider at the bottom the back button won't unlock unless you check the box.
Try the iPhone slider; it doesn't take up much room.

One thing I've noticed in a day using widget locker is I'm having launcher pro redraw more now. I fixed the problem before but it seems to be happening more now. Its unfortunate but I think I can deal with it.

I think I've come up with a solution to this to make everyone happy. There's lot of people that want it disabled, but then I worry about completely locking people out of their phones. So I'm letting you specific how long the back button must be held in order to unlock. And you can even set it to 30 seconds, which is a really long time. If someone thinks they can't unlock and panics and hits the back button a few times it will give a little popup reminder of the timeout.

Sound reasonable?

Works perfect. A 5 seconds timeout option would be nice? Anybody knows where the settings are stored?
/data/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/shared_prefs/WidgetLocker.xml
However I don't think you'll be able to get 5 seconds. In my tests I could only get ~8 seconds even if I set anything lower, so that's why I went with 10 as the minimum.

aside from the XML, widgets/shortcuts are stored in sqlite3 at:
/data/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/databases/launcher.db
And custom slider configuration at
/data/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/databases/widgetslider.db

Noticed something that might be a bug. After a while of the phone being locked, sometimes it will wake after bumping any of the hard buttons instead of just the top one (which is how I have it set.) It doesn't always do this, but only after an undermined amount of time...

Saw Widget Locker in the home screens thread for the first time earlier this evening. I was just mentioning to my friend who owns an Incredible that I really wished I could get the Sense UI pull-down bar on my Droid's lock screen. Imagine my excitement when I saw the screenshot, and the person that posted it mentioned it was on a Droid! :)

Purchased, installed, tinkered... And it's marvelous! The way it's set up is brilliant, and I've had no real issues with it whatsoever! Initially I had constant redraws with Launcher Pro, but after a reboot, they went away. Now, my Droid is rocking with that Sense pull-down bar! dancedroid

I've read through the whole thread, and I too must commend you, kevin@teslacoilsw, for being active and offering support for your users. It's rare to see developers go out of their way to help people like this, and it's awesome to see one actively taking requests and ideas from the people using the app. Thank you very much!

If I may, I would also like to second the request for hidden music widgets. I would love to be able to control music on my lockscreen, but only if I started playing it within the music app or a widget on my home screen. I don't want my phone to accidentally activate in my pocket, and then start a random song if the play button is accidentally nudged on a widget. If the widget could be hidden or disabled until music playback was initiated in a normal widget or music app, it would be great!

Again, thank you *very* much for this application. I tried some other lockscreen "replacements" before, but as you know, they were all really, really rough. Widget Locker is as smooth as butter at this point! :)

Yes that sounds pretty good. Thanks!

I've had to temporarily disable Widget Locker. I use my Droid as my alarm clock, and I have it set so that pressing either the volume or camera buttons will turn off the alarm. WL is interfering with this, and won't let it operate this way.

Is there some setting that will allow me to use the buttons in this manner? I really like WL and don't want to have to give it up.

Thanks.

Kevin will have to give the definitive answer, of course, but I know there is a box to check to allow the volume buttons to function. If this doesn't do it I'd get an alarm clock widget from the market. Better Android makes a free one (with ads, but it should do to test with).
Perhaps Kevin could make it so the WL lockscreen clock can link to the inbuilt one…?

Kevin - The only feature I would like is some kind of save feature? I add all my widgets and shortcuts and everything looks great. But when I install a new ROM I have to do it all over again.

Although, I guess since you can't restore widgets this would be a useless feature.

Never mind, glad I could help myself. :)
