WidgetLocker +*~+*~+*~+*~+*-- WOW!!!

its off, never even turned it on. No matter what the volume keys always wake the phone up. I double checked every option. theres not even an option to have volume keys wake the phone, only control volume.

Hello. I just downloaded this program because I wanted to place a widget on the lockscreen with my personal contact information should I lose my Droid X. When I run this program, I have to unlock my phone twice. Unlocking it at the first screen (the widget locker screen) then brings up the default android unlock screen. It's a pain to have to unlock twice. I'm sure I have a setting wrong - can someone help? Thanks!

Never mind - I figured out that I had to turn off the stock slider in the security settings. This program now does exactly what I need - THANKS!!

phone waking automatically

I've been using Widgetlocker for about a month now and I think it's one of the most essential programs on my phone. Unfortunately, I've had to disable it as of today because of several problems.

Problem 1: Display turns on at random times and occasionally stays on for longer than the timeout. I notice my phone doing this while sitting on my desk, unmolested. I've un-installed most my programs that have services, except for Google's News and Weather program and Google Voice.

Problem 2: The volume keys and sometimes the camera button will occasionally wake my phone regardless of how long I wait. I'm aware that you must wait a while after the display shuts off before the keys no longer wake the phone. I notice this because I use a soft belt hoster and the volume keys brush up against the side of it. I'll occasionally see my phone glowing and it's obvious when I squeeze the sides of my phone to take it out.

The combination of these two problems absolutely KILLS my battery life because "display" is using up to 80-90% of my battery during each charge.

Yes, I've checked all the settings in Widgetlocker. Disabling it seems to resolve the issues for now, but I'm hoping the developer can figure it out so I can make my lockscreen useful again. Anyone else with these problems?

Phone:
Original Droid
Pete's 2.2 FRG01, rooted (not bugless beast)
LauncherPro

Awesome app, bought it a week ago or so. i do have 1 problem though. No matter settings i use the volume keys ALWAYS wake my phone up. I only want the power button to do this, because the volume keys are easy to hit and are turning my phones screen on and its wasting battery. Anyway to do this?

Are you using Simply Stunning 4.7? There's a bug in that ROM caused by a new feature that was added that makes this happen.

Problem adding widgets to row 2 or 3

I can add widgets that are 1 unit high to either the top or 4th row of the lockscreen, but trying to add any widget that's over 1 unit high gives a message "Out of space" a tthe bottom of the screen - and I am unable to position at widgets in row 2 or 3.

Seems incredibly odd and I had a quick read of this thread before posting. Any help appreciated.

Desire, Leedroid 1.9a, rooted.

I'm a bit puzzled by this. WL has loaded fine for me for some time now, without having to do this. Did you have a PIN or unlock pattern set?
Today my Droid mysteriously rebooted and WL did not come up; the standard lockscreen did. So I went looking for that setting, found it, selected "none "; it went right back to the last screen. I couldn't tell if it did anything or not. Of course, I hadn't even bothered with that tab before so nothing was set up for it to nullify.
So what's up with the security settings thing? Is this something we all should do?

Kevin,

This is a wonderful app, thanks so much for your efforts. I am currently running stock 2.1 on my Droid X and had a few questions:

1) I am using WL with Launcher Pro and since installing it, I am no longer able to use the functionality on my homescreen where pressing the home button zooms out to show you all 7 of your homescreens at once on the screen. That was one of my favorite things about Launcher Pro that I could look at all 7 homescreens at once and then click on any one of them to go to that screen (instead of having to swipe over). Any idea how I can get that functionality back? EDIT: I tried disabling WL and still don't know what happened to that functionality.

2) Pattern Lock - I have my pattern lock set to turn on after 20 minutes but with WL, it shows up everytime I unlock, even if it's only been 10 seconds. For now, I have turned off the pattern lock, as I don't want to have to swipe my pattern everytime I unlock WL. But I still want to be able to set my pattern lock to show up after X minutes only.

3) Would love to have a setting that allows me to hide the Notification bar on the WL lock screen.

4) Confusion on how the Home button and HomeHelper is supposed to work. Tutorial was a bit difficult to understand, could you perhaps post a description of how this works?

Thanks so much for such a nice app!

Thanks so much for such a nice app!

1) you can pinch in on the launcherpro screen to bring up the previews. if you'd rather use the home button, you can disable home helper by setting launcherpro directly as your main home app. this may (or may not) have adverse effects on WL's performance though. I don't use home helper and it works fine for me.

2)I don't know because I don't have an X.. the suggestion I gave for your first question *might* work though. keyword: might

3) there already is a setting for that.

4) It's meant to improve performance and decrease the time between when you turn off the screen and when Widget Locker becomes ready (basically). It also allows Widget Locker to display when you first boot up the phone (if you have that setting enabled). You set HomeHelper as your default home application. It then "passes through" to your main home application automatically when you hit home so it isn't meant to affect your actual home screen app (ie LauncherPro). It's mostly just there for technical and performance reasons. kevin can explain it better lol, but i hope that makes sense.

I'm running WL and LP with WL helper and my home button works as it should in LP, screen previews or whatever. There must be a setting somewhere that's different.

Thanks for the reply! The pinch seems to work but it's not very fluid as I have icons on my homescreen and pinching isn't always the easiest. I'd like to go back to being able to press the home button to get the previews. I tried to do this in WL settings to no avail. I tried to do this from the WL screen by going to Settings>Behavior>Home Application and choosing Launcher Pro but it did not work. Am I doing something wrong? Also, where can I find the setting to hide the notification bar? Thanks in advance!

EDIT - I figured it out, thank so much.

Now ... onto figuring out what these Interactions are all about. No clue! haha :)
