Who is getting it day one and who is waiting???

Don't be. The Bionic's hardware will keep it competitive for several months after it's launch. Besides, Moto seems to have really gone to the drawing board on this one trying to bring some serious high quality and performance straight out the box. Not to mention that once it's rooted, there will be no keeping it down.

point exactly, if you wait to see what is coming out then you will always be waiting. its unfortunate but true. with google owning the moto phone division who konws what they will announce in a month.

Quick question. I've been able to upgrade for a while, but have been waiting for the Bionic. If my account ends in late September, does that mean that I have to upgrade before then to renew it? or can I just renew the contract, and upgrade a little later? Also, does anyone know if this phone will be hard to get if you don't preorder? I like to let the phone sit in the market for a bit and see the user's reviews of it.

Actually, your contract just goes into month-to-month mode. You can cancel it at any time once you're out of contract, no need to renew. It will start a new contract when you buy a new phone. I've been out of contract since feb.

as i said already im waiting, but only 2-3 weeks. to hell with future phones. in this market you will only have the best for a few months at the most. sams club usually has much better deals than verizon or best buy. But they dont get these things on day 1 most of the time. Just like waiting to see what phone is around the corner, waiting for price drops means you will always be waiting. But since places like Sams club usually are only a couple weeks behind, I feel thats worth the savings. Not to mention having some time to play with it in the verizon store, and read some real world reviews of the device. If sams gets it and no price difference, or about 3 weeks goes by and sama doesnt have it yet, as long as the real reviews are as good as they should be. I will be getting this phone anyway. So if September 8 is for real Ill have mine by the end of September. which works good any way the wifes birthday is October 7 and she wants a new phone, and says it has to be the same as what I get. She gets pissed since I get her a phone she will use not the best on the market. why do you need a duel core processor, if you dont kniw what a processor is? Who cares its what she wants.

They don't own Moto Mobility just quite yet; it is still in the works and could be for months to come. Deals like this don't happen over night.

I've never bought a phone on launch date and I want this to be my first. Only thing is my NE2 date is 9/16, so unless the reps are nice and let me get it a week before my NE2, I'll have to suffer and wait a week. Gonna be a long week of getting jealous reading posts on here about how sweet the Bionic is!

Depends on how good the Droid marketing is and how much of it is subliminally embedded in people's heads. I never seen any Droid marketing before a movie at the theaters before. For folks that got there early enough to see it...that could mean at least hundreds of thousands of early sales. They see it and start talking about it to ppl that didnt see it, word of mouth and it might sell out. Crowded stores might get ppl's attention that wasnt looking for it before. And if the sales people will be pushing it hard. I got a feeling they will be when it launches.

All that and I have yet to see any commercials on TV. Or billboards.

Coming from a droid x, I'll def be getting it. If needed, the extended battery is going to be more than enough power for anyone.

I'll wait until I can use it in the store. Did the same with my previous phones. Still not 100% sure I'll get this phone, but I'm probably 99%, haha.

I am looking forward to what comes out of the google/moto thing, but think I'll be just about due for an upgrade when they finally get settled in, and drop the magic. These things take time, and I feel as though the Bionic will see me through until then.

Can't wait for more reviews to start popping up for the bionic. Looks like a worthy upgrade from my D1.

I will probably get the Bionic as soon as it is released. My OG Droid was doing well and I thought I might wait it out, but it has been acting up lately and I am getting sick of it.

I am probably suffering from some paranoid psychosis, but I am convinced that as soon your contract is up Verizon sends a signal to your phone to make it start working like crap.
