I tether from time to time, rooted wireless tether, the only way Verizon can truely catch tetherers is, as far as I know, to illegally sniff packets of data your getting sent so they go after the heavy users of data only. And to answer the root question it maybe released day 1 with root because they think the method they found for the droid 3 will work with the Bionic and its too late in its release for them to issue a patch to all the phones.
Well Im gonna not only be a day one purchaser, as soon as the preorder is up im snagging one. I might of waited, but 4 days ago i dropped my phone and destroyed that thing (i was not drunk at all haha). So the sooner the better for me, phone withdraw is starting to kick in.
well see here's the thing-
I'm still using me android wireless tether for rooted phones app everybody was using. it's just a little green wireless symbol. I've never had any problems whatsoever (crossing my fingers).
however my theory is that I'm not having any problems because I'm still on froyo. just a guess but let me know if anybody on froyo is having problems wireless tethering.
I like to add is that I cannot find wireless tethering app that I have been using on the android market anymore. I know that I got it on the android market, but it's easier while and I can find it now is by going through the website link thats in the information about the app.
Sorry I'm really tired, I think what confused me is no ones having problems with wireless tether specifically, he just doesn't want to get the Bionic day one because he won't be able to tether with it until its rooted and he doesn't know when that'll happen.
Edit: hahaha now that I read it again makes perfect sense. First time I swear my mind made it gibberish and I could only understand the end. Is that bad?
I see now. So. Much. Win. And sorry usually I'm refreshing the DF, phandroid and droidlife webpages for any new info, but I'm on my phone right now
Edit: too. Many. Posts. Every second. O.<
