Wait for Jellybean, or root and go for Cyanogen?

Firstly, I'm a fairly new GS3, longtime (rooted)Droid X user, and for the most part love this phone. However, there are certain things Im really looking forward to about this Jellybean update that Verizon hasn't released, and hasn't commented on.

My question is this: should I just wait, or go for Cyanogen? I've heard it has many (if not all) of the optimizations Jellybean has, and obviously has its own style and abilities. I know going for the leaked Jellybean is an option as well, but unless the update will be months off still, I'd rather just be patient. :-)

Or, if anyone can recommend a better choice than Cyanogen, I'm open to that. I'm looking for speed, battery life equivalent or better than stock, and a nice balance of features. :-)
