Voicemail issues

So I don't think this is a issues with my rom though it very may well be but I get no voicemail notifications not even the icon. Am I missing something or is this just a known issue.

I know that this doesn't solve the voice mail problem, but may I suggest that you switch or try using google voice? You can check your voice messages online and google will transcribe the voice messages. The messages can also be sent to you via email and/or SMS.

It is a free service and there's a free android app for it.
