So, you know that small "troubling" rumor that has been floating around for a few days? The one where Verizon may switch to tiered data as early as July 29th? Well, Verizon officially addressed these rumors for the first time, in an e-mail to its reps. Now, the email doesn't give much information for the blogging world to chew on. What is most interesting however, is that Verizon instructs its reps to keep their mouths shut in response to customer inquiries on the subject.
Sure this may simply be an automated corporate response, but to me, it sounds like Verizon is getting a bit defensive here. So, will Verizon be dropping its unlimited data option on the 29th? I guess we'll find out on five more days. Until then, let's chalk it up as a rumor: nothing more, nothing less."Thank you for your inquiry but I have no information on any pricing change at this time. I'd be happy to review your current plan and let you know what your options are..."
