I went to a non corporate Verizon store the other day to buy a QI Verizon desk dock. Walked up to the door and it was locked with two employees and two customers getting help by one employee.
Employee number two motioned to me "were closed." I looked at my watch and it was 6:01 pm.
I went to the corporate store 2 blocks away.
So much for supporting the local guy.

I'm ashamed to work for a retailer when I read stories like this. At the same time, I am proud to work in this industry and make even a small difference in the experience people get.

I do my best to make sure people are making an informed choice before buying. I don't push for Edge or insurance unless I feel it would really benefit them. Customer service is my top priority, and it's not uncommon to see people lined up waiting to speak with me on a regular basis.
I never had a bad experience at a Corporate store and I am told frequently that I should think about switching to one. But there's no way I would do that. I want to prove to people that 3rd party retailers can be great people that care about the customer
