Verizon signed off on official gb for droid x!

Either this will be available for droid 2 sometime soon or not at all.

I doubt droid 2 will even see this.anytime soon being droid 2 wasent as popular as the droidx being vzw flagship phone. The droid x was pushed while the droid 2 was just the lost forgotten cousin. Its like when a new baby is born and the kid of the family is left.out.because all.attention is on the new child.

Swyped from the best phone in verizon's line up.

did they fix the hardkey lights, and include a clipboard? does it have a new and improved, even more locked down boot loader?

I thought this comment summed up the GB release well...
VZW Checklist:

Forget about updating other droids in the line: Check

If the X gets this the D2 will also. The X may have sold more units (I am sure it did) but the 2 was quite popular as well. There just isn't enough of a difference between the 2 and the X to say that one will get it and the other wont. Now if they were like the D1 and the DX being talked about here then I would most likely agree that the D1 wouldn't get it. But we are talking about 2 popular phones that dropped what a month or 2 apart?

I do have to say that I think it's totally awesome that the DX is set to get it but what about that $500 phone that was just released....I think we forgot about that....what's it called.....oh....the Thunderbolt. I am almost willing to bet the DX and the D2 get GB before this device. Guess that's what you get for spending $500 on a new phone.....no update for you till the older one's get it first......

Is it just me or does this make zero sense?

Like said before droid x was vzw flagship phone. Droid 2 wasen't it was the same phone as d1 just basically different color and enhanced keyboard. Htc thunderbolt is verizons flagship at the moment being their first 4g phone. With that being said the older models will be updated first. Motorola stated that they will be first to give out gb totheir devices. Thunderbolt isnt motorola branded its htc branded thats up to htc when to update it to gb but motorola is up first.

Twice as strong processor, way more RAM, and overall a difference of like night and day. The only thing the D1 has on the D2 is an unlocked bootloader. I have both a D1 and a D2 and I can tell you they are NOT the same. Although they look identical enough that I get em confused at times.

Here is another way to look at this whole D2 vs DX thing....the DX has one model.....the DX....the D2 has 3.....Droid 2, Droid R2D2 (still Droid 2 with different theme basically) and the D2G which is still a D2 with a stronger CPU and global capabilities.....so with all that being said you would THINK that the D2 would be up first for upgrades......

But....the DX sold more than the D2.....not so if you add the other 2 models....even drop the D2G and just add the r2d2 as that and the D2 are the same exact phone.

Found this little image on Motorola's website....looks like the D2 and the D2G ARE getting this after all huh?
