USB Options - Media Device

I used to plug in an USB cable from my cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S6 edge) to my PC ( Windows 10) and it used to come up on the cellphone as : "Connected as a media device". Now it only shows it as charging. IS there a way to get back to connect to media device? The driver from Samsung ihas been downloaded & is in my file of Drivers. Help this Ole Man. Thanks.

If your phone has a lock screen and you have not entered the code for it, then the computer should not be able to access the info on the phone.

Does that make a difference?

It may be the usb cable you are using. Some are charging only cables. Others are for both data and charging.
