Tired of complaining about the Pre-Loaded Apps? See how to take action today!!

All you have to do is the first thing you say is
"Hey, im (calling, emailing, chatting, etc) about ticket number X. Has there been any update or actions taken yet?"
Then bother them, make our case, then request that they log in the ticket the convo or that you contacted them.

So yes, its public.

This will be great. We all need to use this from now on. And by the way mader, your post was so calm, i definitely wouldn't be able to that without expressing frustration more..

When people get mad at me when I work I mute my phone and laugh while they yell. You get much better results if you keep a level head.

More flies with honey as they say ;)

Haha, its that that im rude or that i yell, (which i really rarely do, only like once) My pep peeve is not being informed though... If you work at McDonalds, then you should know all the items on the menu, same as if someone works in a warehouse, they better know where the items are and their numbers. If i find an knowledgeable person, its not that i would snap...quite the opposite, its like peeing in the wind. Its like, should i even continue talking to the the person? its clearly a waste of time. So after a couple idk's id have to take a deep breath, face palm, and and walk away. I can tell you i would have done this at "Rhea: I Apologize for that" but you went way farther, and got a case number.

On a side not in writing this my dog started to have a seizure so this post my not be a complete thought. BRB to complete. (I think i shall to her to the vet now-If they r even open :( )

I am a new Droid X owner, thanks for all the input here. I will also be posting my complaints to Motorola about the preloaded apps. Stand Up and Fight!

my 2nd letter to vzw:

I have a droid 2 and I am disappointed that verizon is not allowing
me to remove bloated apps. I understand that it is a business and
you profit off of bloatware (preinstalled apps like blockbuster,
need for speed, city id), but I should be given the option to
remove those apps. You have no right to force me to purchase
the app or be stuck with it on my device. If after the trial period is
over I should be given the option to remove. The iphone that you
guys are selling is said to be free of bloat apps like blockbuster,
need for speed, city id, etc. I pay my bill on time just like iphone
customers, if you do not care enough for the android user to allow
us the same privilege or at least be given the option to remove my
apps then I have no problem taking my money to another carrier.
I have no intentions on buying an iphone and that should not have
to be my choice to buy an iphone or get forced with apps that I
can not remove. You charge the highest rate amongst all carriers
and the android device cost the same amount as the iphone, so
either cut the price of the android device or stop pre loading my
device with needless apps. Considering what I pay for your
service, your data plane, and for the device, I am not asking you
too much to give the users the option to remove preinstalled apps
after having my device for 30 days.

I called Verizon today and was told to leave feedback on their website about the bloatware. Maybe if enough people do this they will come out with an update.

copy of my email to vzw:

As a customer we are displeased with the fact you are pre-loading our android devices with apps we can not delete. We understand that this is a business and you are trying to make money but we have an issue with having trial apps like blockbuster, need for speed, city id, and other apps installed in our system folder where we can not delete them. Those apps are taking up space and if we do not want to use them or the trail has expired they are now taking up space. Please either stop the practice of preloading our device with useless trial apps or allow us to be able to remove them. The practice of preloading our device is taking up our system space. We as customers pay high dollar for our device and service plans, being verizon has the highest rate plans compared to their competitors I do not think we are asking to much to be allowed to delete preloaded apps off of our device. We know the manufacturer put the software on the phones but you guys actually tell them what software and apps you want installed.

Thank You,

From a concerned customer.

I used some of your email and changed some things, hope you don't mind. Here is what I sent:

As loyal customers of both Verizon and Motorola products my wife and I are very displeased with the fact you pre-load our android devices with apps we can not delete. We understand that this is a business and you are trying to make money but we have an issue with having trial apps like blockbuster, need for speed, city id, or apps that we never use (facebook and twitter are glaring examples) installed where we can not delete them. If we do not want to use an app or if the trial has expired and we do not want to purchase them, then we should be able to delete them. It seems to me that any app that is not essential to the operation of the phone, which Blockbuster and Facebook clearly are not, should be able to be removed. Please either stop the practice of preloading our device with trial apps or if you feel you are doing us a favor by letting us try an app then at least allow us the ability to remove them when we decide they are usless to us. The practice of preloading our device is taking up our system space and slowing the phones down. I do not think we are asking to much to be allowed to delete preloaded apps off of our devices.
I have an original Droid and my wife has the X and I've been up for an upgrade since November. I was waiting for the Bionic to come out, but now I am hearing the IPhone will not come with preloaded apps. This is causing me to rethink many things. I know I am not the first one with this complaint. I thank you for you time and hope this issue is addressed before the Bionic is released.
Thank You,

My Name

I wanted to add to this thread that I think this is more Verizon than Motorola. I mean maybe Motorola could say no to the pre-loaded apps, but Verizon has been the driver of this bus for as long as I can remember. I've been with them for a long time; my first phone when I switched from Cingular to Verizon was a Motorola product (I don't remember which model). At the same time I also purchased from Motorola's web site a phone tools package that would let me create ring tones from my music and other neat things. At some point Verizon had an update and that option was grayed out; they had disabled that feature. Wasn't that nice? I complained but it did no good, you know, one voice I guess. I never seen a forum as active as this one. If it's been said somewhere in the 20 pages of this thread, forgive me, but maybe we should shift all the complaints to Verizon.
