nevermind i fixed it! woot! :)
I'm having the same problem. My XT720 won't boot past the 'M' and it doesn't present any USB interface to the PC.

How did you fix this?

you have to put the phone into bootloader mode and flash the sbf thru rsd. should be a link somewhere around here or on xda with detailed instructions

Fixed it! *Happy Dance*

Had to do some Google searches for the Recovery Mode key combo and came up with this generic XT720 de-bricking process.

1) Boot to Recovery Mode from power off
- Camera Mode + Power (release power, but hold CM until M appears)
- This should bring up Recovery Mode (triangle with exclamation)
2) Bring up recovery menu
- Vol-Up + Camera Mode
3) Wipe cache
4) Reboot

If this fails to de-brick, follow the above process, but choose Factory Reset instead of Wipe Cache.

If that fails, use RSD Lite or ADB to reflash the phone, from the recovery mode.
