Rooting for me is useful for wifi hotspot. Don't want to pay Verizon MORE money for something I don't have to. Removing bloatware is a side benefit.

So I just got the thunderbolt four days and am still able to get the bionic for ten more day. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but hopefully I can get in today. Do you guys think I should switch to the bionic? I guess i am just worried about getting a phone that has just been released. Thanks.

Well I was in the same boat as you , I really like the Thunderbolt but after all the reaserch and a second trip to the Verizon store to get some more hands on time I made the switch to the Bionic. Im just starting a 2 year contract so I may as well have the most current tech, so even if I want the Vigor or Prime etc. I can sell the Bionic for more than the Thunderbolt. But now that I have the Bionic and I'm getting it setup the way I like I find myself liking it more and more.

Can someone tell me which Bionic accessory comes with the mini wireless remote control, its either the hdmi mirroring plug in or the desktop cradle... ??

I've got to say, it's pretty amazing. Lots of people getting their Bionic. Not a lot of complaints. Sure, one or two people whining about the screen (still don't get that) but, other than that, doesn't seem to be anything major wrong with the phone. Could this phone actually live up to all of the hype which was out before its release???

I am not sure what people are saying about the screen. From my perspective the 540x960 is no better than the TB screen at 480x800. There I would say I am a little discouraged. Compaired to my charges screen I am still 50/50. I did like the deeper color contrast that the charge screen gave but if I was getting a phone I guess I didn't want yesterdays hardware since I am paying retail. I refuse to engage into another two year contract with VZ. I pay a couple more bucks for the phone up front, but if I want to bail out of the contract I save a bill or two.

I'm debating between the HD Station and the Standard Dock.
I saw the HD Station in action 2 weeks ago at the Radio Shack Biz Summit in Dallas and its awesome. I just dont know if I'd get $100 worth of use out of it.

$100??? I guess the $70 price was if I included it when I got my Bionic.. not paying $100 for that. How much is the standard charging station? They didn't even mention that to me when I got the phone. Actually, someone posted about having bought a case with a kickstand, now, if that fits in the car dock that would be perfect.

I believe the standard dock is $50 but I havent confirmed that yet.
Still waiting for Radio Shack to go live with VZW. I have a $50GC and a $10 off $40 coupon so if they have Bionic accessories I can save some good cash

Your set then... if I had a $50 gift card, I'd might spring the extra cash (If its still the same price) for the HD station..

I think that was me you were referring to on the case with kickstand.
I bought the otterbox defender series case. but I don't think it will fit in the car dock
it's a huge triple layer of protection for the phone.

they make a commuter series which is thinner that might work.

Well I can always take the case off to use in car dock, do you have a link? Does the Commuter onehave a kickstand?

This is the case that Verizon carries that accommodates the extended battery. It does have a little kickstand that folds out of the back of the case (will work both vertically and horizontally). From what I understand, the phone with case will fit into the home dock, because the home dock has a removable insert that provides extra room for a cased handset. I don't know if the car dock has the same insert.
