[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

I think you're on the wrong thread...we're talking about the Gingerbread version of CM7, your build numbers sound like the Froyo version,
Wups. Gearing up to make the jump and got excited. Interesting to see similar problems exist.

I also can't get miui camera installed.

How did you install it, and what happened.

You should copy it to your /System folder, set permissions to match other apps there, and then reboot.

Here's the one that I've used...remove everything in the file name after "apk" and then push to system and set permissions and reboot. Should work. Will show up as "miui camera" in your app tray.

Forgive me but how do set the permissions after I copy it to the /system folder?

I did that and same thing. It shows in up the app tray but I still get that connection error people are having.

Easiest option is to use Root Explorer - long press on the file and choose the Permissions option. If you are rooting, Root Explorer is one of the very few 'must own' apps, IMHO. Just makes rooting life completely easy.

Otherwise you can run commands in terminal or ADB via USB. Get Root Explorer...

Bummer...no idea why I'm not having these issues, very strange, but camera works fine for me.

Am I the only one w/a working camera?

I fixed my camera issue by uninstalling the camera apk. Then I reflashed the 10-1 cm7 zip. Camera is working fine now.

I spoke too soon.

I reflashed and thought it was going to work but then no joy. If you take a pic and then look at it in the gallery..go back to the camera and its frozen...then it fc's...

Yup, I can replicate that issue...odd thing is that I did that last night and didn't see the crash, I remember specifically looking at the pix in gallery. You can break the MIUI Cam that way as well.

Back to trusty ole 9/18...lol My battery is terrible and I miss my camera....Maybe I will wipe data first....

One Epic Blue and Bold Cm7(otaGBK) .----->fastforward!
I am the biggest Pink Floyd fan...btw...

Just used button shortcut to assign camera360 to my camera button. Everything works great. On-screen zoom works and pics go into gallery :)
