nah doesnt install. rsd lite apparently hates windows 7 64bit

About to say! It must be something with your pc. I know people with win 7 and it works fine. I wonder what's the deal is? Sorry to hear it either way.

Yeah, apparently according to the internets windows 7 64bit does not play nicely with RSD Lite. Dug up a disc for the iso though, will burn that, boot from it and hopefully make some progress

lol, attempted to boot from the ezsbf disc, program started running, then screen goes haywire and is all pixelated. Awesome. fml

Pretty sure I bought my D2 less than a year ago, can I just take it into a verizon store and get it replaced?

Just get to a pc (a friend's maybe) and sbf that baby. This is what I have always done (I JUST got a laptop the other day). It's an easy fix. There's no reason to take it in to vzw. It's up to you of course.

I've done sbf at least 25-30 times with no issues (maybe one, but it always worked out).

My d2 is much, much smarter than me.

installed and runs fine on my Win 7 64 bit system...

Finally got RSD lite going on another user account. Is it finished when it says

status: please manually power up this phone

progress: executed 100%

result: in process

It should boot right up into the setup screen. If it doesn't and just loops (give it a few minutes) unplug the phone and pull the battery. Boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset. Then reboot. You'll be good to go. I'm glad it worked. It sounded strange there for a minute

FYI - a status update from RevNumbers, our talented dev, on the Dev thread on Rootzwiki:

I haven't read everything posted recently... so forgive me if any of this has already been covered...

To clear up any confusion:

I haven't forgot about y'all, nor have I stopped working on things... but with kernel.org being down there wasn't a way to get a fresh copy of the whole source tree... and in my playing around I managed to get mine to the point I wouldn't feel comfortable releasing anything built from it, lol

I've also been going through some pretty rough stuff in my personal life, and it has priority over everything else.


Happier news:
Yesterday CM committed some changes that makes it so we can sync our tree's again, so.... I've got a fresh tree, and will start building again soon.
