[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

9/8 came out today. You guys need to follow this thread, [DEV_THREAD]Droid 2 CM7 with Gingerbread Leak Kernel It's at the top

"CURRENT BUILD:
2011-09-08:"

For the guy only gets 6 hours of battery life load up your battery meter (settings about battery usage) and report back your top 5 things and how much time they used. Also my buddy had the exact phone with the same rom, he never ever charges his battery and lets it run dead all the time. He also only charges for like 5-10 minutes when he is super low and gets back up to like 20-30%. If you do that your destroying your battery. He bought a new one on amazon for $5 and now charges it all the way up and every night. He is getting way better battery life. Might be something worth trying. Sometimes you get a bad or you kill your battery. It happens.
i needs sleep i dont know what i was thinking i installed this earlier today

That's where I've been going, but the newest build I see it 2011-09-02. Where is the 09-08? Nevermind I saw it at the top. Any issues with the 09-08 build??

Yes flash the same way. You don't need to wipe anything. Or atleast I didn't you may want to wait till someone confirms this for sure, but I didn't wipe anything

Just wipe the cache and dalvik cache before you flash and you should be fine. Happy flashing!

Last question after I download it to my sd card do I launch from rom manager? And select install from sd card from recovery? Just don't want to override my cyanogen mod or anything

Boot into recovery and flash from there

i have installed this 2x and bootlooped both. i don't understand what i'm doing wrong. i sbf, update.zip, root, then using bootstrap flashed nightly (1st time - 2nd time used ROM manager "install ROM from sd), and install nightly w/out wiping, and bootloop. twice it has happened. i'm going to try it one more time, wiping data before flashing using bootstrapper. it is getting toooo late for this. gettin' crazy eyed

You should wipe before installing the nightly.

TBH worked to sbf. But when I did the ota update it locked up both times. Ezsbf worked the first time I tried it when updating to ota gb. It's something with the tbh file that stopped my ota update from working.

Yeah, you had some odd results...but I believe they are the exception..

Battery life on gb is definitely better. Pay it forward

Wish I could say the same, but unfortunately it's gotten worse. On Liberty GB v0.9 I was getting twice the battery life than what I get now. However, I don't attribute my current poor battery life to CM7. It's been like this since I did the OTA and rooted. I decided to try out CM7 to see if I could improve it but it's not happening. This screenshot was taken after taking my phone off of the charger and leaving it, for the most part, inactive for over 13 hours. Before updating, I would be at 60 - 70% battery life. I've been able to go for over 2 days without charging before (again, phone mostly inactive during that time).

Just to note though, I took this screenshot tonight while I am currently calibrating the battery, so we'll see if things improve over the coming days.

EDIT: Also, I had an issue with Light Flow causing my LED to flash for a notification that I could not clear during this time, but have since resolved that issue, so some of my battery issues might have been cause by that.
