[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

Just so I can catch up with whats been going on lately I have couple quiestions.

Is there any advatages of using the OTA kernal vs the leaked one?

Im on the first GB build of cm7 that made it into revs unnoficial nightlies. Has he improved battery life much since then?

I just posted a photo a few posts up. Battery is the best its ever been for me since I've been on cm7. I'm sure the updated baseband and kernel help. I recommend it.

Pay it forward

Aside from testimonials, I look at it this way:

- It costs a lot of money to develop/test/release updated FW/SW
- Moto/Verizon wouldn't bother to do that just for the fun of it
- If you want to reverse the update at some point it's very easy to get back to Froyo or the GB Leak via SBF

Go for it.

To be honest, I'm just tired of everyone asking if it's worth it. Try it! It's the best the d2 has to offer imo. It's takes 5 minutes to reverse it (which I don't think anyone would do anyhow :)

Heard but it seems like evryone else is getting great battery out of this and I still don't. I get like 6 hours tops with light use. I can take my phone off the charger @ 100% and then go straight to sleep and when I wake up 8-9 hours later I'm at like 15%. I just don't get it. I'm also running jakesmod and supercharger option 9. No overclock

Try reflashing and just use jakesmods. I found my battery life was worse with the supercharger. Honestly I still have yet to find anything with better battery life than zombie stomped. I used to get an easy day and a half on normal use. Cm7 on all the latest updates I get about 18 hours or so sometimes more

I have a confession to make.....
I'm still on the GB OTA...unrooted.
I miss CM7 so bad. The last two times I flashed Rev's nightlies, it played hell on my phone. I has to sbf both times and even that was a chore since it was stuck at the bootloader. I never had an issue while on the froyo version, well besides the few known issues.
Dammit I miss my DSP eq.

Sry for the lite rant

It's OK...the first step is admitting you're running a stock ROM. ;-)

I think some of you are misunderstanding what Im asking but im not sure. I dont mean to ask if the OTA is "worth it". All im asking, is if battery life is better since the first GB build in rev unofficial nightlies, and if the OTA kernal is any different than the leaked one. I would flash it myself, but im paranoid about a clean install this time and i dont have time to spend on restoring my phone. Thank you.

I didn't mean any offense man, I was just venting :)
I think battery life is better. Absolutely
