No root, no buy. That simple for me. That is the reason I bought the Droid.

then stay with what you have. people complain about dropped calls with verizon they are alot worse. and there is always a way to hack something it just may take some time

I wish that were the case. With a signed bootloader you are pretty much screwed. Look at the Milestone guys. Sure they can OC but that's it. No custom ROMs no nothing. Backflip is another example of a signed bootloader Moto. If Motorola insists on doing this I will just take my business elsewhere. That is the beauty of an open market and choice. I speak with my wallet. Oh I also plan on holding on to my Droid for a long while.
