Anyone experiencing intermittent data drops should try this fix. Select Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile Networks/Data Roaming/Allow Access for all trips. Reboot your phone after making the change. This setting is designed to permit data access for trips outside the US. However, it also ensures a more reliable 3G/4G connection within the States. To prove this, notice how quickly your phone picks up a 3G/4G signal once you turn off WiFi.

I was given this solution by Verizon Tech Support and it seems to have worked. Since making the change, I haven't experienced one instance of losing data connection. Just thought I'd pass the info along to everyone.

Does this make your battery life better or worse in anyway noticeable?

Sweet, thanks for this tip. Will try it out and see what happens and see if it affects the battery.

Nope. Haven't noticed any change. It's not "boosting" the phone's output in any way. It's only maintaining a more reliable data connection.
