My droid X was rooted last week with Z4root. However, I now hear about a new software version. Do I need to just unroot using Z4Root and then check for new software?

My droid x indicates android version 2.2.1 and system version 2.3.340 I took a screen shot of the of page that indicates all this.

If your on a stock rom when the update releases you will get the notification.

I thought after running the Z4Root I'm not on a stock rom anymore...Is that not true?

that's incorrect, you are still stock, just rooted, which won't prevent an update (although I'd recommend unrooting as you may lose root and have troubles getting it back)

that said, .340 is the most up-to-date system, so you're fine.
