Sorry. I start to assume that everyone is as fluent in some of the terms used around here.

If you clean out the stock home, you will get better performance from your home replacement. Home replacements are like GDE, Pandahome, Helix, Helix2, etc.

If you are rooted, you can even edit some of the system files. The stock home is a system file, and if you were to rename it from launcher.apk to launcher.bak or launcher.apk.bak, then it keeps it from reopening. This allows more memory for your home replacement and other apps.

I just renamed launcher.apk to launcher.apk.bak after I mounted my phone and I must say, it is flying now. It always lagged when going back to the main screen but it is blazing now. Thanks for the heads up!

It is the DarkEdge beta. I'm a tester. It's coming along nicely but still has a few rough edges and unfinished parts. It is being put together by REALigion and Xeudoxus. Keep an eye on it because it is turning out to be pretty sexy.

-Hmmm. I tried renaming it last night with FileDroidLite and while it allowed me to rename it launcher.apk.bak. - BUT when I would browse back to the file it was still launcher.apk! What am I doing wrong?
