Screenshots of peoples Droid desktops?

I see the command prompt pop up for a split second and then it goes away and nothing happens.

You need to make sure you have the latest Java update...and make sure it is part of your PATH.

In the SDK setup you downloaded the USB drivers?

I also down loaded 2.01 and 2.1 API stuff. I am not sure if that is necessary or not.

Path? Also, I believe I already have the usb drivers as I rooted and installed bb.

I was running into the same issue with ddms. I used this guide to solve it. The Java piece is what fixed it for me.

But I also had to install the drivers located in the usb_drivers file located in the SDK extracted file. DDMS did not see my phone untill I did that

The USB drivers are separate than anything that you need to root. They're part of the SDK. I think they're the last option on the download screen where it asks what you want to download.

As long as you have java installed, don't worry about the PATH. It should be put there by default.

I must be a friggin noob. Could this process be different considering I am using Windows 7? I can't even get past the first step. I know I have Java installed too, I installed it, just now. This is what the error says:

"Java is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or batch file SWT folder does not exist. Please set Androd_SWT to point to the folder containing SWT.jar for your platform"

Nice setup, would you care to share that wallpaper?

I did it on Win 7. No idea what SWT.jar is, though. I would re-download and extract the SDK from Google and start fresh. Make sure you get, at least, the 2.0.1 files and the USB driver when you execute SDK Setup.exe.
