Here's my home screen with some custom icons I found.

Ideally, I'd prefer to have this image

be the SMS icon, but I can't get it to appear without having white-bordered edges :( If any of you Paintshop wizards can fix this image so that it is rounded like the others on my homescreen, you get a free google voice invite! Just PM me!

The facebook icon is actually not the native one. I use a shortcut to touch.facebook.com so I got rid of the ugly shortcut icon and made it pretty, lol. Bettercut is pretty awesome. I also modded the Google Talk icon to get the google-colored letters!

I don't need an invite, but here you go.

Running Launcher2 from 2.1 (love it so far). Most of the icons came from packs on kde-look.org and gnome-look.org, with a couple coming from the original ibox icon packs (the iphone ones, I did a google search for them). Still looking for a better phone, maps, and barcode scanner icon; and I need to enlarge that gTalk icon a bit.

Sorry this may be an easy question for you but I'm not that much of a techie. How do you get the Icons from kde-look.org, and gnomelook.org onto the phone? And once on the phone how are you replacing the standard icons? I'd love to know how to do this, I've wanted to change my icons since day one!

I found some icons I liked (still looking for more, though) and put them all in a folder on my sd card. I don't think it matters what size you choose, but I picked 128x128 icons. After that, I used BetterCut (market app, $1.99) to alter the shortcuts on my home screen and change their icons. It doesn't change the drawer icons, but since my most used icons are all on my home screen, that doesn't bother me. You can use BetterCut to create new shortcuts, or to edit existing ones.

There's just not enough days in the year to keep up with all of these wonderful threads! But I keep trying... *grin*

I've noticed so many are putting small pics with frams on your desktops and I've no idea how to do this. I'm fairly certain someone has posted a how-to but I've not found it in the millions and millions of postings on this and other threads.

Would someone mind directing me to that location so that I may do this as well? I'm not finding this answer anywhere and it's frustrating. I'm told it's a common droid-ability. Sorry, I'm still very much in the droid-learning stages :) but this site is getting me there.

thanks! I envy all these wonderful pages and screens. I'm still on the old 3-screen setup, kinda scared to try these home apps... I don't wanna kill my droid. *grin*

To add a picture frame, hold down on a blank spot of your homescreen (takes up a 2x2 space so make sure you have room) and choose Widgets. Then scroll down to "Picture frame" and choose that. Now it will take you to your gallery to pick the picture. After you choose the picture and crop it, it will appear on your screen.

Here's a little teaser of a skin I have developed for my phone, Some of the images have been borrowed from TDAWG so I want to make sure to give him some credit. Most of this theme has been hard work from me and many many hours, I worked on it for 12 hours alone yesterday. Anyway, tell me what you think, I call it DROIDINATOR!! Also changed my dialer to have rocker buttons when selected.....
