Can anyone give me some advice about getting the phone to show up in Dalvik?? I downloaded everything and installed the droid drivers. My phone shows up in device manager no problems. But when I open ddms.dat it doesnt list any devices at all.
I'm just running XP, and yes I did install the java sdk... though i'm not sure how it is needed.
I've been playing around with the SDK some myself. It seems like I had trouble getting the USB drivers to take. As happens too often with the "plug-n-pray" concept, it suddenly just started working. I have no idea which tip I used to make it so. But it started working. Meanwhile, the Android SDK Content loads every time I open Eclipse now, even when I'm not working on an Android project (grrrr).

Bear in mind that you may have other issues if you install PdaNet, the tethering software. I believe its USB driver somehow interferes with that of the SDK. Regardless, I still am able to do a screen capture.

QiG, what feed reader widgets are those?

Are you a Browns fan? If so, that makes 3 of us so far by my count.

Guilty as charged, tough year (as always)

The yahoo and ESPN are from an app called RSS widgetboard.

By the way, my phone started acting funny yesterday after a few of the new downloads. It wouldn't register touching as 'clicking' on some menus and would lock up with a frozen white or black screen, so I reset the phone data and reinstalled everything and continued to have the same problem. I figured it was Home++ at first, but now I think it's the RSS feed widget and I've uninstalled it and reapplied Home++. I'll let you know if I still have any problems.

Not sure how I want to setup my 3 screens on the droid. Looking for some screenshots on what people have theirs set up like.

And likewise, I'm not sure why it would be of any importance to anyone how other people set up their screens. Why is it important to you? Can't you set up your own screens to your own satisfaction?

Here's a snapshot of my screens using DxTop. Still working on organizing them. the fourth screen is empty, waiting for a nice tasks widget to go on there :-). I'm really happy with how my home screen turned out. Order is home (with beautiful widgets and pure calendar), left, right.
Hey, whats the calendar widget on the left most screen there...

I like this thread because the screenshots let you see homescreen apps, widgets, and wallpapers you might not otherwise know about. And some people actually look at existing designs before coming up with one of their own, to see if anyone has done something original they might not have thought of. To each his own...

I agree...sometimes it takes others ideas to get the juices flowing and possibly improve on what you see.

No need to be rude racklefratz...people here are helping each other out...and you're knockin them down. You aren't contributing...you're just aggravating. If it ain't nice...don't bother sayin it.

Hey, I happen to like this thread. A little inspiration couldn't hurt. Also it's a great way to see app/widgets that we may not have heard about! ;)
