When I connect S3 to my pc nothing happens! Nothing that says device found or anything? Phone does not show up under my computer as a drive either. My Maxx had the option to mount as a drive or camera however I do not see same option on the S3. How do I have phone sync as a drive via USB?

Bad USB cable
I had exactly the same issue. I got my S3 from AT&T in October 2012, the USB cable that came with it allows the phone to charge when connected to a PC, but does not allow data transfer. Tried another cable, and it works fine.
