Can't connect to my PC

McPert

Hi everyone,

I have a 32gb memory card and have been transferring files to my S3 via USB cable for months. I recently switched the connection mode (to 'media' I think) and now when I connect my S3 to the PC via USB, it doesn't appear in the list of removable drives.

Does anyone know how I change the connection mode back?

I've updated my drivers on my PC, but no joy. I've even tried connecting via Samsung Kies (wirelessly and by cable) and it still won't connect to the memory card.

Help!

David.

Kies

KIES sucks. I re-installed it twice. In order to connect with my Samsung S II I must first connect a cable, no responce, uninstall the driver in Device manager (!!) and re-insert the cable. The phone is recognized and connected right away.
This is far from technical efficacyI think.

There could be a laundry list of possible issues keeping you from connecting, mostly having to do with the PC configuration, and yes, Kies is rubbish. There are many ways to transfer files to and from your phone not the least of which is cloud based like DropBox or Box.net but try AirDroid. I think you'll find it very usable.
