Rooting > no wifi > unrooted > still no wifi

I've been sifting through dozens of droid/rooting/wifi related issues and I can't find anything that fits my situation.

My wifi worked just fine previously. I rooted my droid (frg83d) and immediately my wifi still connected with IP and good signal but no app/browser connectivity. Fiddled with some settings and power cycles and rerooting nothing changed. Unrooted the phone and the same wifi behavior is still present.

Any ideas? Please help!

I know this is going to sound silly, but everytime I have WiFi problems, I first will reboot the phone. Try that.

good luck

turned out to be something goofy with my modem/router. Don't know how rooting triggered it, but reseting the modem fixed all.
