is the name correct? It's not update.zip.zip right?

Or capitalized?

I followed everything carefully , but after pressing start on RSD lite , the next second it fails and gives this error in RSD. I am not able to surpass this error.

Are you in the bootloader screen while trying to flash? what does it say?

Should say something like:

2c.7c
battery ok
transfer mode usb
ok to program

I know what the error says.

I've google searched it and it seems to be an error with Droid X's, and not so much with Droid1.

Is your bootloader not the latest version? is it not 2c.7.c?

Ok you don't have a Droid 1 you have a Milestone.

You need to find out how to root one of those.

The Milestone isn't the same as the Droid1.

I suggest you look at xda-developers web forums.

Still valid ?

I read the whole thing today, 2/13/2011, and want to know if everything is still valid to root my A855.
Only asking because the posted instructions are about 6 months old.

Okay now this is related to a Milestone and not a Droid . Hope someone might help me with this.

I tried using this guide to root and have a nandroid backup.

Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698059

I tried almost like 100 times and in between I got the process installed , I mean I was able to Flash without any error and G.O.T Mode was installed in the recovery. I then performed a nandroid backup . But due to a silly mistake I happened to delete the necessary G.O.T files from the root folder.

And since then I am not getting it right.

I am holding the D-Pad up button in order to catch the boot and its taking me to the bootloader screen and the result is been displayed as "PASS"
But still it gives me EOCD Marker and Installation aborted error.

What am I suppose to do ?
