Thank you guys so much for adding the other gallery in the toolbox. Having two kids= a lot of pictures and the gallery was the only thing making me question keeping this rom. Now I just have to figure out how to improve battery life but either way I'm sticking with liberty. Donation is on the way

Stuck at Liberty Boot Logo

I got into recovery mode and performed a backup. I then proceeded to do an advanced restore of just the system (I had to make sure the md5 sums checked out...I have been bitten by that before). The only problem is that after I performed the restore and rebooted, it will not leave the "Liberty" boot logo.

I had to pull the battery, and the only thing I can do is get into recovery, and not the Clockwork Mod one.

Do I factory reset, and then apply the maderstock update.zip ?

liberty with swype?

does the liberty rom include the swype program for the keyboard? I really love the ability to swype and dont want to lose it when I flash my rom

I too loaded liberty last night and am now stuck at what looks like the 'bootloop'. The animation of the liberty boot loader starts again about every 15 seconds. Install of Liberty looked to work fine. Downloaded from Fab site.

rooted Droid X on maderstock .340

Now can not get to anything but stock boot loader it seems otherwise. Tried battery pull which has always worked in the past but isn't working now.

pull battery.
while holding home key and power key reinsert battery let buttons go AFTER the Droid & ! show up.
Press search button 4th one on right.
select wipe cache.
reboot .
should be fine now . If not repeat above but also do factory reset from the menu that shows up on the phone recovery .

Have done that. It keeps going into standard bootloader with an err: A5,70,00,00,2F

The initial Liberty icon flashes up and dissapears... I let go of the buttons and the above occurs. Now.... if I hold down 'vol down' 'camera' and 'power' it does not show the Liberty logo but rather just goes into standard boot loader without the err. Hitting 'search' however does nothing in either case.

Am really trying to get it to come back up into bootrecovery menu so that I may attempt to repeat the install. It is possible I may have missed the 'return to factory' prior to installing Liberty. If I can get back to bootrecovery then I can repeat the process and be sure that I return to factory before reloading Liberty. As for now... I have a brick.

Again... in case it helps... it is upon the animated Liberty logo that it goes into loop. Not completely back to non-animated logo.... just a restarting of the animated one.... nice logo tho!:)

Black Screen of Death

I have experienced this twice:

1. Liberty Gingerbread Theme Installed
2. No clock, QuickClock Advanced, WidgetLocker
3. Reading Twitter feeds

I had this happen once prior to WidgetLocker being installed.

Screen blanks and then five minutes later the phone reboots. While the screen blanks, the phone is unresponsive.

Thanks
Marc

power off phone.
Hold "home" button & power button same time, Not volume button
at triangle now press search button ,4th one.
menu pops up.
use volume button to select
camera button to activate choice

Allow me to clarify... I AM holding the home and power button.... that method gives me the error.... but leaves me at the standard boot loader... the triangle never comes up.... the other method... holding the vol down, camera, and power buttons do not result in an error but still only take me into the standard boot loader with no triangle. The distinction being the first method shows the initial Liberty logo (non animated) then an err and the latter does not show the Liberty logo nor the err...

Re-edit.... ok... look to be getting somewhere... after multiple battery pull attempts with various delays before reinserting and just using the power button I have finally gotten it to come up in clockworkmod recovery... I have cleared cash and formatted to factory... reloaded the Liberty software and................ and................ and................... and.................. cmon............and..............and..................still waiting............... animated logo comes up... no animation............ BINGO! I love it when a plan comes together... dancedroid

when I get in a weird situation like yours instead of messing around I use the following thread.

maderstcok - OTA 2.3.340 update.zip

sometimes its best to start over instead of wasting time.
Just carefully follow his OP direction and reboot before doing anything if you go this way.
